25 Jun IncluEdu at Communication Works Conference 2016

RIX Research & Media had the opportunity last month to present the IncluEdu project to educators and inclusion professionals from across the UK, at the annual Communication Works 2016 Conference.

The conference, where delegates were able to see and hear about a wide range of communication tools, strategies and latest technologies, took place on Thursday 26th May at Charlton Park Academy in South London. Gosia Kwiatkowska, lead researcher at RIX Research, presented a seminar on Universal Design for teaching & learning using mobile technologies in which she had delegates use iPads in combination with interactive activities to discover the work of the IncluEdu European partnership.

Gosia outlined the universal design principles that are required for inclusive education to be truly successful: where each student is able to reach their full potential regardless of their disability. She also talked about self-advocacy and how mobile devices such as iPads can be used to develop knowledge of self and support self-advocacy. The seminar ended with a lively discussion on the use of iPads in personalised learning.
