I believe that it's very motivating that you pick up some of the themes for teaching from students own life. Then it's not anything separate from their everyday life. I also want to utilize modern technology so iPads have been a great addition to my teaching.

HOW DID YOU DO IT?
We started from my students everyday life. They made a book of their lives: their family, interest etc. Later on they introduced these books to everyone in front of a class. We also studied english words: we made own english vocabulary book. We got pictures from Papunet (http://papunet.net/materiaalia/kuvapankki) and then we wrote the words in english. This book can be used over and over again, because you can move pictures and words to new places. Wit normal paper you don't have cahnce to this multiple use.

WHY WERE TABLETS USED/WAS IT BENEFICIAL?
Students were able to progress on their own speed and they could search information from internet as well. They utilize their own pictures taken with ipad camera.
