WHAT DID YOU DO?
I wanted to combine two subjects in my lesson: Human biology and mother tongue. These are the subjects we had been studying independently. My idea was to get out of the class and utilize the school surroundings. I also wanted that students can work both in groups and individually. The idea was to combine own pictures, text ("manuscript") and recordings. Their task was to plan a marketing speech that was convincing and contained the esssential information. They could choose the topic themselves for the marketing speech. I gave them some ideas like: convince the head of the school that we need more sports equipment, convince kids to move more during the breaks etc. And the "twist" for this task was to do it in two different styles. So pupils had to come up with two different types of characters and think about, how they would talk. So different styles to argue were skills to be practiced in this task.

HOW DID YOU DO IT?
We were using the app called Tellagami, which allows you to create recorded animation very quickly. We visited the sportshall of our school and students took pictures with their iPads. Then they started to plan and write their speeches. They were able to choose if they wanted to write with the ipad or with paper and pencil. In my opinion it's good that they have had a chance to choose. Not everyone wants to work all the time on the iPad. After writing the speech they could choose the place to do recordings. So once again they had a chance to go outside the class and do it in their own pace and in privacy, without any interference.

WHY WERE TABLETS USED/WAS IT BENEFICIAL?
It's easy to go around with tablets and the app we were using is simple but can be used in a very creative way. I think that learning should be in the center, iPads are tools for learning.

HOW DID IT SUPPORT INCLUSIVE TEACHING?
Everyone was able to join and without stressing to give a speech to the rest of the class. They were able to record their speech in private and they could practice it many times, do many recordings and then choose the best one.
