JAMES NORTHRIDGE

URABILITY

James has a background in IT & Business, he completed his undergraduate studies in UCC (Ireland) obtaining a BSc in Business Information Systems, a MSc in Disability & Rehabilitation Studies from UCD (Ireland) and has previously worked in IT roles with UCD, Accenture & PA Consulting. He also gained valuable disability sector experience while working with Ahead (Association for Higher Education Access and Disability).

He is currently working from Umass University in Boston, where he is undertaking a Marie Curie Fellowship in Assistive Technology, he also director and founder of UrAbility.

Eileen Murphy

URABILITY

Eileen has 33 years of experience as a primary school teacher.  To compliment her B.Ed degree she completed her Masters in Education in Autism with the University of Birmingham. She has many years experience in the field of education as a teacher, lecturer, information technology tutor and online course developer. She has a wealth of experience in the field of Inclusive Education, Information Technology with particular emphasis on Assistive Technology. Eileen heads up the technology review and training division in UrAbility and runs many of the one to one/group training sessions.

Andy has been the Director of RIX Research since The Rix Centre Charity was set up in 2004. He has been responsible for the development of research into multimedia for the benefit of the learning disability at the University of East London since 2001 and has led a series of major research and development programmes. He has a background in TV production and has taught multimedia production in Universities and community-based projects for more than 25 years, with a particular emphasis on media advocacy for marginalised and excluded communities. He has published a range of articles, books, programmes and websites that reflect this specialist way of working, in direct partnership with disadvantaged people. Andy was awarded an MBE in 2012.

ANDY MINNION

Andy has been the Director of RIX Research since The Rix Centre Charity was set up in 2004. THOMAS TRÖBINGER

Thomas has more than 10 years of experiences in teaching basic ICT skills. He also has several years of extensive experiences in all stages of EU-Projects. As a member of staff in the previous European W2ID project (2010-2012) he was responsible for project evaluation and pedagogical course development. As the main project coordinator he is responsible for managing the IncluEdu project. Together with Karl he organizes and runs international courses on inclusive education with Tablets in Graz. Thomas has a Masters in social sciences from the Univ. of Graz.

THOMAS TRÖBINGER

CHARLOTTE SAWARD

Charlotte is the centre’s Project & Communications Coordinator and brings particular expertise in the development of resources and learning materials, as well as her experience of coordinating the centre’s previous European projects. Charlie has a special interest in the production of clear, accessible information that is easy to understand. She contributes to teaching and learning at RIX though the production of a range of learning resources and support materials, including software user guides and video guides for the centre’s e-learning courses. Charlie has a BA Hons in English and United States Literature from the University of Essex and a background in research administration and support.

GOSIA KWIATKOWSKA

At RIX she is the Centre Manger and principal researcher. She has led development and delivery of the centre’s Multimedia Advocacy course provision for almost ten years and is an expert in person-centred practice.
Gosia has a BSc Hons in Psychology and Information Technologies from the University of East London and a Masters in Multimedia Theory and Practice UEL. She is a Senior Lecturer in teaching courses within Schools of Education, Social Work and Media.

He is also a project manager of the European Agency for Development in Special Needs and Inclusive Education and a University lecturer of Design for All/Inclusive Design, thus adding a content perspective relevant to the project/strategic partnership.
