UrAbility provides Assistive Technology solutions for schools, universities, students and teachers, focusing on training individuals to ensure that the technology is used to it’s full potential in education and in life. UrAbility’s mission is to enable people with disabilities to access vital information and training about assistive technology products, to empower their future and allow people who have faced similar challenges to be successful in whatever path they may follow.
UrAbility gained investment, when they appeared on the Irish TV investment show “Dragon’s Den” in 2014.

RIX RESEARCH AND MEDIA

Rix Research and Media is a Research Centre based at the University of East London (UEL) that is dedicated to developing and working with new media for the benefit of people with intellectual disabilities. The Centre works with people with disabilities alongside their teachers and supporters to explore innovative, inclusive approaches to learning. We use a ‘Living Lab’ model, whereby prototype software and models of training and support are developed and piloted in collaboration with users in the community.

ITA

ITA (Institute for Technology and Work) is a non-profit association and spin-off research institute of the University of Kaiserslautern, Germany, founded 1995. The Institute is headed by Professor Dr. Klaus J. Zink and combines basic research with interdisciplinary, application-oriented concepts for the analysis and design of work and organizations. It has currently a multi-disciplinary team of 40+, consisting of economists, human factors and ergonomics specialists, engineers and industrial engineers, social and health scientists, psychologists and computer scientists.

The department of Inclusive Design has a long expertise in accompanying the design, implementation and evaluation of highly usable and accessible information and communication technology (ICT) in corporate, public or private settings. It develops and adapts methods for user-centred design approaches, with an active participation of disadvantaged users, and particularly of users with various types of disabilities. In parallel to ICT design processes, ITA analyses organizational contexts and develops strategies for organizational change to exploit the benefits of ICT for all relevant stakeholders. ITA also establishes and runs networks and clusters of companies and organisations on various topics.

FAIDD

The Finnish Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (FAIDD) is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation that promotes good life, equality and participation for people with intellectual disabilities and others who need support with learning, understanding and communicating. FAIDD was founded in 1952. In order to reach these goals, we exercise social influence and serve as a centre of knowledge and expertise and a cooperative forum. We engage in a wide range of cooperation with people with intellectual disabilities, their families, professionals in the field, service providers, organisations, businesses and public authorities. The current number of the staff is 73. FAIDD has 88 member organisations (service providers).

atempo

atempo GmbH is a private non profit organisation based in Graz, Austria. atempo´s mission is to work towards inclusion of people with learning difficulties and disabilities. atempo has various training and learning offers for young adults with learning difficulties to assist them in their transition from school to the first labour market. An important cornerstone of our educational offer is digital literacy and inclusion. Inspired by the conviction of revolutionary innovation potential of iPads and tablets, we started our training program to expand into new mobile devices and media. Since 2013 atempo forwards their digital expertise to educational professional all over Europe being one of a few specialised European course providers who already trained more than 150 education professionals from over 20 European countries in the use of Tablets in (inclusive) education and adult learning.
